I sometimes use it when I'm feeling lazy, but I don't like the whole "overrated" thing. It's a way of sounding as though you're criticising an album or artist, when really you're defining it by other peoples' reactions. "Amon Amarth are overrated" just means "I think less people should like Amon Amarth". I'd prefer to make meaningful statements about the actual art, personally.

Bugger off. Quest For Fire automatically loses it 2/5, the production's terrible but I can get over that. I just don't like the album, never did. It's the worst of the "classic" albums (up to and including Seventh Son...). I'd put it on a par with Brave new World, maybe.

Blood Mountain is my favourite by Mastodon though I dig the new one quite a bit. Hugely over rated, seem to get a lot of attention from people who are into them in a 'I like them so I can be a cool prgom muso' kind of way. Regarding Red Harvest, Im having to restrain myself from typing in caps in excitment. Cold Dark Matter is one of my all time favourite albums of any genre, I can count the people Ive met who have heard of them on one hand.

I would add that 1349 are massively over rated for what they are as are Trigger the Bloodshed

I liked them, or at least i liked the first couple of albums. I had Sworn on the car stereo, after being away for a week I got back into the car and it came on and I couldn't recall who it was. I gave it a few tracks before up dismissing it as generic BM and wondered why the hell I'd brought it, only to realise it was Watain. At that point I had to ignore the hype and admit they just don't do it for me. Nor are they the saviours of BM

I saw Muse live and it was probably the worst thing I have ever seen, and I have seen Saxon.
