Any cunt that says "boyo"

That would be unfunny Sais cunts (double tautology there) who are attempting to imitate Welsh people. I've never heard a Welsh person say "boyo".

There was a very angry letter in this week's Private Eye by a Welsh complaining about, of all things, the misunderstanding that Welsh people say "look you." He even listed all the occasions Shakespeare used the phrase to show that it was an English thing, not Welsh.

One of Shakespeare's Welsh characters says "look you" a lot. There are some stilted lines from one character or other, that, given how influential a writer Shakespeare is, have lead to you Sais assuming we speak like that. I read that somewhere, true story.

Nice name drop of Private Eye there Ed.

According to the letter-writer, Shakespeare had several English characters say it, and more than one French character, but never a Welsh one. Fluellen in Henry V has an odd speech thing that is supposed to sound Welsh, I think it's that he says 'w' as 'b' or something like that - it's very odd whatever it is.

Perhaps it's another phrase I'm thinking of.

Saispeare is racialist like the rest of you.

It's nothing compared to the Welsh and Irish characters in Ben Jonson's Bartholomew Fair. Fucking hell - it's painful enough to read anyway without what is clearly the 17th-century equivalent of a black character constantly going, "Ah sho' nuff want me some fried chick'n 'n wawtermelon, yes missuh!"

I'm glad he got locked up and tortured.

Especially after having to perform scenes from his "hilarious" comedies.

There is a scene in Henry V which hasn't been performed (in the UK at least) for many years, where "Fluellen" stuffs leeks down one of the English characters throat.

Over exposure I suppose. Apart from the fact his bands popularity far outweighs their actual talent, every time you see a documentary or magazine piece on an older band he is there giving his stamp of approval. "Look kids, Dave Grohl has heard of them!"

He's like a rock Bono in that sense. Not quite on the same level of smugness and self regard of course.

I don't mind him that much really, provided I never have to hear his (well, Foo Fighters) music again.

Gary Holt seems like a right cunt.
And I heard Corey Taylor from Slipknot on the radio the other week and he clearly knows fuck all about all the metal bands he desperately wants people to believe he loves. Ergo, he's a cunt. And punchable.

Gary Holt? Really???

Yeah. I saw an interview with him and he seemed to be a right prima donna. It could have been a case of where he was sick of the whole interview junket shit, I dunno...

He always seemed pleasant enough to me.

I see Large Oilrig was mentioned earlier, but I think James Hetfield is infinitely more punchable nowadays, the big whiny redneck baby that he is.

Oilrig is an out-and-out cunt. I know what you mean about Hetfield, though. He has literally gone from pioneer to poser. I'll bet he bought his current bullet belt on Rodeo Drive.

Hetfield is a much, much bigger cunt than Ulrich and probably has been for a long time.

Dave Grohl. I'd knock his horsey teeth out.

He comes across as really insincere to me. One minute he's "so hardcore punk rock like D.C man Bad Brains like I grew up on that shit man. it's the reason I play drums. Oh no wait John Bonham is the reason I play drums, no wait I love the beatles and cheap Trick and I'm in Foo Fighters, no wait I'm so metal I'm in Probot. Oh and everyone wants a piece of me, they all love me, qotsa, Lemmy they fucking love me man, we're like best budz".

If only Grohl would just stick to drumming...

He's a bit "look at all my celeb mates" I suppose, but he isn't the only one. Does anyone remember the thanks list in the inner sleeve to 'Chaos AD' where amongst the bands thanked are Max's own side projects with members of bands already mentioned so he can essentially thank the same people twice (and arguably, thank HIMSELF) just to pad the list out?

Well he only had one side project, Nailbomb, and they are thanked in the "thanks to the following bands" bit not in Max Thanks bit. i doubt it was to pad the list out, probably just to mention Nailbomb.

Hetfield and Ulrich have to be up there as being truly detestable.

The money making jewism of Anthrax as well, punting one singer for another constantly.

I'll add the black metal twats like Hellhammer, Faust, Jon Nodveidt, Varg and that Kanwulf kunt.

I dunno, there's that interview with Ihsahn when he's all sataned up.

Now a days he just plays 10 string ironing boards trying to show off how technical he is but having no hope of ever creating anything as enjoyable as the Emperor EP or In The Nightside Eclipse.

The man was clearly at his peak when he had big sideys, shoulder spikes and his arse hanging out his leather cowboy trousers.

But no to be fair, he's not the worst. The actual murdering ones do tend to be the worst, but everyone in Mayhem is a fuckin bell end. Frost from Satyricon as well.

So maybe there are more decent ones than fannys.

Still everyone that copied that lot are even worse.
