Got a copy of that to review. I know absolutely nothing about them but that track above sounds like a nice bit of Venom-worshipping Thrash.

The previous album was great.

Just going back to Iced Earth, does anyone on here still care about them? Spiny? Their last album was completely forgettable, Dystopia was quite good but it was a little mechanical and workmanlike.

I guess I've never been able to accept them without Schaffer. To me they peaked with The Dark Saga (underrated) and Something Wicked This Way Comes, and it was all downhill after that even if The Glorious Burden was really quite good

I haven't enjoyed anything they've done since 2001's "Horror Show" but I really enjoyed their live show a couple of years back. 1995's "Burnt Offerings" is their best release for mine.

Still got a lot of time for Iced Earth, but the last album - save for two or three songs - was completely forgettable. Looking forward to this one, but I'm not getting my hopes up too much.

Burnt Offerings has some great songs but they weren't as tight as a band on that one. I still wish i had the original cd before it was reissued. It was stolen along with many other cds that are hard to get now.

Horror Show was decent, but the concept was offputting and really a strange follow up to a breakthrough release after years of being ignored.

Too many lineup changes stalled their momentum too, but that's a different story altogether.

Burnt Offerings is definitely my favourite too, but I find myself going to Days Of Purgatory more often than any album.

Statters: Schaffer has never been out of the band, are you thinking of Barlow?

 Schaffer IS the band, or at least the boss. Not sure how I messed that up! Barlow could sound like a parody of a metal singer at times, but he was passionate and distinctive.

Days is good, but I prefer the original Stormrider but not the original self titled.

Barlow was a good frontman. You can't deny that his giant head of red hair was ace.

yeah, he seemed reduced when he cut it, like a lion without his mane.

^^The last Suffo was their best since 1995 imo, so hopefully this is good too and not average like every other album they have released since 2004.

That's a very short review.
