They're one of those bands I seriously don't get the hype of, honesty.

I'm surprised the new PL hasn't leaked yet. From what I recall, Nuclear Blast albums tend to like early.

Man, that cover artwork is lame as shit.

Not a Napalm Death fan either, but I'll admit I've heard like two albums off them.

Very Discharge, that cover. I'm not optimistic, Smear Campaign is the last one of theirs I liked and that was 2006.

Smear Campaign was a good one. I can't remember one from the next after that. Has Mitch officially left then? I must've missed the memo

I think he's still 'officially' a member despite not being involved for years. I can only assume they're a business entity now that he's still a part of, and the current guitarist is just a hired hand.

The full length album of Draghkar is out today and so far I dig it. It's a departure of the band's earlier cavernous sound and instead it's much more flexible and melodic - there some heavy metal influences popping up, yet this doesn't resemble a melodic death metal album, either. At times I almost get the idea as if I'm listening to something that feels like an odd mix between Necrophobic and Mortuary Drape or something. I do think the production might be a tad too clean for this style, but musically this sounds rather promising so far.

All the tracks can be heard on the band's bandcamp: https://draghkar.bandcamp.com/album/at- ... f-infinity

Bob Mould: Distortion 1989-2019

24 CD box set of his post Husker Du work, loads of rare & live material included (excluding his latest album though). I just pre-ordered it for £86 on Amazon, which is pretty good, considering Mansun are releasing a similar boxset for twice the price plus postage.

^^A surprisingly straightforward metal track, but it's a grower and it sounds good!

That's a pretty good price considering the amount of material.

I already own all of the Sugar studio material, plus Body of Song and District Line, but I kinda lost touch with his work after that and it's become so vast over the last decade, although I've heard generally positive comments on most of his solo albums over that time.

I think Beauty & Ruin (from 4 or 5 years ago) is one of his best albums, a bit of everything on it. It's an unbelievable price really, assuming there's no catch and it all sounds good.

Post Re: Forthcoming Albums Vol. 2
I do remember Beauty and Ruin getting some positive reviews, but I never got around to it. He had settled into a, admittedly, solid groove with his solo stuff by that point, which wasn't bad but just didn't excite me compared to some other stuff around that time that was a bit more fresh to my ears. I think that was around the time of his autobiography, which I really enjoyed.

I didn't know he'd written one, I must keep an eye out for it.

Apparently Celestial Season will release a new doom/death metal on October 23rd! I like Solar Lovers quite a bit, so this could be interesting.
