If you banned everyone who said something stupid here there'd be no one left.

Rust In Peace is Megadeth's finest hour. Anyone who claims otherwise is mentally deficient.

Along with Nuclear Assault's Game Over, it's the thrash album.

Well, that first statement is accurate at least.

I have heard one Megadeth album in my entire life. The Area 51 one. You know the one.

My review: It was tits. No point even checking out the rest of their (presumably) even worse back or forward catalogue. There was one track that had a sinister sounding vocal hook somewhere inside it. And the artwork was ok. Apart from that....no thanks.

That's Rust in Piss which the unenlightened all rave about. It's tits, arse, and bollocks as far as I'm concerned.

That's a bit harsh but pretty much, yeah. It was a huge disappointment from the band that's for sure. More broadly it was a big sign that thrash was over and done with. That people like its streamlined, polished and ball-less sound is a mystery to me, but again, that was a sign of what was to become more and more popular across genres.

No.

As I've mentioned before, if you took the first two songs, Tornado Of Souls and the title track you would have a 5 fist EP. And it would indeed be a peak of Megadeth's career. It's just a shame that the other songs have to bring the grade down to 3 fists.
