I heard it once, when it came out but hated it instantly. Not because it wasn't black metal, but because it was just poor. I don't remember enough to rate it, but it wouldn't get a high score. And Filosofem is a 3/5 album, but carry on.

"Filosofem" is undoubtedly a 5/5 but "Dauði Baldrs" isn't even close to a 1/5.

0.2/5? 0.3/5?

5/5 & 1/5 ratings are both very rarely achieved as far as I'm concerned so I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to come up with a single example. I can't imagine these sort of variations in quality even being possible for people with realistic scoring systems.

Lol. Roots as a 1 fist album, c'mon now. I know it's cool to be a contrarian but that's absolute bollocks. Chaos A.D. is a boring album for a start, if there was a 1 fist album out of the pair it'd be Chaos. Dull from start to finish. Aint no beneath the remains or Arise.

EDIT: In fact I havnt finished my rant. I bought Chaos A.D. because of people on this forum going on about it, and it's plodding from start to finish and I've never gotten over how much I felt betrayed. Crap.

It's certainly a step down but far from crap. 3/5, the preceding two being their only 5/5 albums.

I don't listen to Chaos AD as much as I did when I first heard it but it's still a 5 fist record IMO.

Roots is just absolute nu-metal shite. Max lost it completely and the whole album sounds like Korn, there's about 2 half decent songs there and the tribal music bits are by far the best thing on it.

"Chaos A.D." was a band pushing the boundaries & making a fresh statement. It's miles ahead of "Roots" which was disappointing.

If there is a marked step-down in the Sepulture albums, it's between Arise and Chaos AD; therefore it wasn't as far to fall down to Roots.

The thing that disappointed me the most about Chaos AD was the production, although it didn't help that the songs were pretty average as well. Roots was just more of the same, only worse.

''The Battle of Tyr'' filler? It's inextricable from "Odin's Court" and "Valhalla"

Filler might be a big word, I'll take that back...but ''Odin's Count'' leading into ''Valhalla'' is seemed more than enough to me.

The sound of Chaos was good in 1993, but the guitars sound a little thin now. That's typical of metal albums of the time with down tuned guitars though. Something would usually would be off in the mix. The drums sound good on Chaos though.

I don't dislike Roots at all and yet I HATE nu metal with a passion. Yes the guitars are downtuned and all and there's quite a bit of jumpity bumpity groove....but those drums!!! And those vocals!! Dripping with venom.

It's no 5 fister, but a 1 fister?? Nope...not even close.

Also nobody's mentioned Alice Cooper yet.....

Yes, though. Clearly.

I wouldn't make a case for Machine Head, I'd have The Burning Red at 2/5, maybe 3/5. Supercharger and Unto The Locust are definite 1/5 albums but neither was preceded or followed by a 5/5 one.

I'd give Supercharger a 2.5- 3 and Unto The Locust a 2. I really believe Locust is their worst album.

Megadeth. No other cunt will agree, but the drop from So Far, So Good...So What? to Rust in Piss was a 5 to a 1.

Pantera. Vulgar Display of Power was a 5. Far Beyond Driven is a 2 if I'm feeling generous, but usually rate it a 1.

So Far, So Good to Rust is a 4 to a 2. So no.

I haven't heard Terrorizer's Darker Days Ahead. Is it so bad?

I must check it out. Pindato and Sandoval alone must raise it above the 1 fist mark.

SFSGSW is very good, but no way is it a 5 fister - so 4 is the accurate mark for it. Rust was where they had their collective balls clipped and put in a purse - but it's not awful, so 2 is right.
