As for Ruins of Beverest, they released two great albums (Impure and Sperm), but the last one was a major disappointment. I hope the next one is better.

Rain Upon the Impure is incredible but everything else TRoB has done leaves me cold.

An obvious band I forgot to mention earlier: WINTERSUN! Jari the king of drama just can't get his work done. Funny enough he's apparently got a new album done that you can buy directly through crowdfunding (the money will go to the band so that they can build a studio to finish Time II  )

Inside Out, Zack De La Rocha Pre-RATM Straight Edge band, only made one 7" before their guitarist became a Krishna Monk after they toured with Shelter, which led to the breakup of the band.

I was big into Rage Against The Machine when I was a teenager but when I tried to listen to those albums recently I found they didn't age well with me. I'd happily trade their entire discography for more Inside Out material and less shitty Rap Metal bands in the world that RATM inspired.

Glassjaw. No new album since 2004, only a few singles.

Great pick, forgot about them. I can take or leave their debut, but Worship and Tribute is really good. Shame they didn't capitalize on the buzz they generated back in the early 00s when they were one of the few genuine hopefuls for rock. I get that Palumbo was sick, but he also got sidetracked by Head Automatica and other projects.

Supposedly there is a new album that is slowly being recorded as we speak, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I think Daryl's health had a lot to do with that mind.

I already mentioned his health, but he's ill health doesn't explain why he spent years promoting Head Automatica who were a much more commercial band than Glassjaw. If H.A took off like Warner Bros hoped, his touring and promotional commitments would have been much greater than they were in Glassjaw.

The bottom line is that Glassjaw have missed their window. It doesn't matter how good the next album is, they cannot possibly make up for so much lost time.

STUFF: Glassjaw's last full length was in 2002 I think, not 2004, which is even worse!

Yeah I think you are right, I like head automatically like. But I know a lot of tours were cancelled with glassjaw due to him being so unwell, Crohns is a right cunt like, I dunno how much touring HA did? Plus with medical advances I would hope his disease is easier to manage these days.

I think if glassjaw come back with a stormer they could still do pretty well.

Just checked.

Frustrating but I'd rather have them do that rather than churn out shit albums for the hell of it. W&T was absolute gold. Can't get on with any other post-hardcore band.

Agathocles have released three splits, two seven inches and a live album since this thread was started.

King Diamond's health issues put him on the sidelines for a few years, but he has been touring on and off for a while now yet hasn't recorded jack shit. Supposedly a new album is going to be written and recorded this year. We'll see.

I remember in 2015 there was going to be a '2016 album', and then last year there was going to be a '2017 album'. Hopefully we don't get rumours about a 2018 album next. :x It would be nice to get something concrete.

I just read this thread, and damn, can't believe it's been 10 years since Portishead's Third. That made me feel old. I remember when a lot of us were talking about that album here back in the day.

It will be officially 10 years old next year. It is definitely hard to believe. It's almost as hard to believe that we have been posting on this message board for over a decade! ;)

I see TOOL have a new one in the works - on the subject of decade + old albums.
