Church organs on a thrash metal record. I think I've heard it all now!

Underground progressive metal with spacey atmosphere and soaring vocals. I like it.

Doesn't sound impressive, honesty.

Trap Them - Sleepwell Deconstructor Not that it'd interest anyone here judging from the amount of old fogie metal in this thread , but I'm obsessed with this. Nowhere near the jurisdiction of the law of diminishing returns (2007, still regular spins). Grindcore down at the punk/HC end of the spectrum. It is incredible, one of the most brutal things I've ever heard... I mean, I like some pretty harsh stuff, this just takes the piss. Perfectly paced savagery, perfect drum performance. I can't fault even a bit of it.
Well it's finished since I started writing that.
Soilent Green - A Deleted Symphony For The Beaten Down
Another flippin incredible group, much underappreciated by the heavy music world, much misrepresented as a sludge band (like... what fucking planet are you on son?)

Sure! I prefer Bestial Devastation and Schizophrenia, but it's a great (underrated/overlooked? Not sure what's most appropriate to use here) record.

NP:
They're both appropriate IMO, as although they're both good, they're nowhere near the quality of Beneath The Remains, Arise and Chaos A.D
Fuck me, how badly does this album want to be Wolverine Blues?

My ratings would be like...
BD - 4.5 fists (rough beginnings, but I love this EP - better vocals and production than the upcoming record)
MV - 4 fists (still rough, a bit same-y but still has a shitload of twisted and intense riffing that go beyond the usual thrash metal styled riffing.
Schizophrenia - 4.5 fists (would have been 5 if it weren't for that instrumental track)
BTR - 4 fists (I know people love this one. It's good, but at that times just not that memorable to me. Opener and closer are legendary though)
Arise - 3 fists (starting to slip, still got some quality riffs at least).
Chaos Ad - Not sure (I don't really like it, but then again I'm not a fan of the style so it would be unfair to bash it. I can imagine these songs would have worked better in a live environment though).
NP: Sounds like some poor low-fi thrash. The vocals sound like that bloke from Death SS even!

They do sound better live. I didn't really become a big fan of the album until I saw them perform some of it live in 94. I liked it in 93, but I felt it was a step or two down from Arise.
