Makes the cover artwork of Sabbath's Heaven and Hell look dull! :D

Very interesting Japanese progressive metal. I like the exotic touches...yet this sounds absolutely gimmick-free.

More Indonesian heavy metal. Great vocals here.

YMy memory of it is obviously very poor  It's probably more just the subject matter that made me feel that way, and Rakim placing himself as an elder-statemen of sorts (which he kinda was at that point, and deservedly so). I think I just tend to reach for Follow The Leader or Let The Rhythm Hit 'Em when I want some Rakim.

Interesting you prefer LTHE to Paid In Full. I like all Eric B and Rakim, but I think he was at his peak lyrically on The 18th Letter. There was a noticeable dip in energy and 'grit' on it though, which obviously bothers some fans, but whatever. I don't care. heh.

Their discography is pretty consistent, even Don't Sweat The Technique I still enjoy. I can't really fault any of it. I know Paid In Full is far more important and influential, I think I just prefer the production on Let The Rhythm Hit 'Em. I think Large Professor did a lot of work on it - those more break beats are just more my taste, and 'In The Ghetto' would be pretty close to being my favourite Eric B. & Rakim track.

Don't Sweat The Technique is great. All of their stuff is worth owning.

New Fates Warning album

So far it's...okay-ish, but I just hope for something better, especially given the quality of the last Arch/Matheos album.

Not the dumpster-fire-abortion-stillbirth the world thinks it is, there is some great music on there. The lyrics and vocals suck though. Three Fists.

^ Those vocals alone are reason to forget about the album. What the fuck was Tom thinking when he decided to ''sing''?

He probably thought that's how Glammies sang.
