Rather than keep starting new threads every time we do fuck all, I'll keep all the occasional doing things to this thread.

(I'm writing this rather than bothering to sort out lyrics as time rapidly runs out before Nev moves away away, and we miss the chance to release the new album in December...)

Here's a video for one of the instrumental interludes from the forthcoming album!

Thanks but no one will be disappointed if I don't get my shit done on time though.

I doubt we'll even get the EPs out in December, but that's the plan.

Album will be next year.

I saw them in action about 2:50pm. Then they stopped doing a live feed.

Now it's just feedback. Pissbreak that lasts 4 hours or have they just split up?

All the previous comments have been removed. This does not bode well.

Nope, they're back on. Cromwell's drinking Guiness by the looks of it.

7am should be interesting.

The live recording that you're trying to play is still being processed and will be available soon.

Sorry, please try again later.

That's on part 3, part 1 is 4:00:27 long, part 2 is 0:05:21 long.

Edit: Say nothing, it's there now. Another 4 hour chunk.

Cheers for checking it out guys. I'll post about it tomorrow once I've actually slept properly.

There were a lot of issues with the track buffering live and the audio had issues for youtube, so it's probably not a fair representation. The guys at the studio were ace, and Chris who was mixing it live was a star.

We managed 14 hours of riffs interspersed with noise sections, so short of what we were aiming for, but still fucking long.

I can hear fuck all now and I have such bad tinnitus that I couldn't sleep afterwards for the noise. Just being around that volume of feedback for that long was relentless.

Weren't you wearing earplugs? What happened at 14 hours - you all just fell asleep?

The guitarist was wearing cans and the drummer was in a separate room so they were protected compared to Mr Bareback above.

You guys needed to have pushed this back so you could have prepared for it more and added more structures etc. to it, though I can imagine Digby wanted this done relatively quickly so you may not have had a chance to. Prolonged sections of feedback are dull, it was better when the Om style riffing approach was utilised but that was relatively sparse. After you saying that the last 6 hours were... unsettling to you guys that explains the moments of you guys leaving the room for lengthy periods near the end and just a shot of your bass against an amp but it was pretty dull, to be honest. Digby needed to fork out a bit more cash for at least a nother webcam as well as the angle chosen was pretty poor - most of the time only your guitarist was visible.
Your drummer deserves props though - especially when he was hammering out a beat solo for 10-20 minute sections.

Not to be harsh about it but it was a bit of a missed opportunity, though you deserve respect for even trying it. If you ever try it again, come up with more ideas/guests/etc. as if nothing else it'll break up the monotomy and be less grueling on yourselves.

Sorry it didn't go how you wanted, Crom, but I'm still really up for hearing it. Fuck the "lol wot iz diz" mongoloids on YouTube, they probably got directed there from a link on the Cauldron website or some shit.

The YouTube doesn't do it justice. We're happy with what we did. Obviously it won't be to many people's tastes, and the extended feedback was for our interests as we've wanted to try that for ages, but there were enough riff sections (plus two short verses of vocals) for it to be what we wanted.

I'm pleased we did it, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't psychological torture during the process!

Maybe to discuss more when we meet, but I am curious about the impact of trying to achieve 24hrs and the psychological challenges.
