Ah, bollocks. I meant Beast Over Hammersmith (Beast On The Road was the name of the tour).

Have a word with yourself son. West End me hole. Its the very definition of classic heavy metal. Strident, stirring, and a perfect mix of muscle and melody. Not to mention Di'Anno in his pomp, giving it some edge.

The live album for Flight 666 possibly at the moment tops LAD for me. The version of Aces High is spot on and Bruce's voice is much better, and the version of Moonchild is stonking.

The intro to Rime makes me chuckle too as I'm 13 years old.

I don't know if anything tops the sheer fucking awesomeness of Maiden Japan or the Rainbow video for me, but Rock In Rio was too fucking good, I almost cried when I saw it the first time, its just so triumphant and joyous to watch.

Maiden Japan is pretty awesome, certainly one of my top three favourite live recordings of theirs. The version of Killers is fantastic and it certainly shows what a great band they were with Di'anno.

Rio is good, but to be honest I prefer Death on the Road and En Vivo! I think. I get the impression (and am just making it up no doubt!) that there's still a bit of holding back in Rio, as they are all new to the line up again, but the later ones have a slight cocky edge to them as they are clearly all into it long term.

This. The problem I have with Flight 666 is that each song fades in and out - or rather each track, as the songs themselves are intact. It wouldn't have taken much effort to edit the crowd noise so that it flowed as a proper live set. If I can be bothered I'll have a go at it myself someday.

Maiden Japan > Live at the Rainbow > Live After Death > Rock In Rio > Death on the Road.

Admittedly that's all I have, but I've never seen the point of going mad on live albums.

I'd slip somewhere in time in the middle of them, and go Killers, Somewhere, Iron as a one two three, but as a general sentiment I agree.

Your 3 week old opinion on Iron Maiden albums is irrelevant, and nearly as wrong as Shallow's.

You have the excuse you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to Maiden.

He doesn't either, but he should.

I agree with this, they certainly appeal to me more personally.

But I strongly disagree with this. Its a brilliant album, clearly one of their best
