Maiden. Been my favourite band since I was 16.

There are a couple of filler tracks on the B side of "Sabotage" but the A side is amongst the best sides of metal ever recorded. Add on "Supertzar" & you get a huge giant-sized beast of an album. I even have a secret soft spot for "Am I Going Insane (Radio)" but let's keep that on the down low.

Don't Start (Too Late) isn't much cop. The rest of the album is fucking almighty, possibly their best.

They aren't really diminishing the majesty because nobody really cares about them now without Mercury. It's kind of like the situation with The Doors.

Hahahaha.... I was waiting for it. As soon as I posted I thought to myself "I wonder how long it'll take Wretch to shoot my comment down even though we're kinda on the same side here". Two minutes was my answer apparently. :)

Personally I don't think "The Thrill Of It All" & "The Writ" are quite at the same level as the rest of the album. They're definitely not bad tracks but I notice a drop in intensity. It's still one of my favourite Sabbath albums.

Sabotage is 3/5, as is Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Both have 2 or 3 filler tracks.

Slayer post-Divine Intervention might as well not exist, but that's an underrated album.

I probably prefer most of DI to both South Of Heaven and Seasons.

Oh their majesty is undimmable, their classic work speaks for itself, but even through all the fist-biting we discerning QUEEN fans have had to go through for the last 15 years, I still don't hesitate in naming them best band evurr. Like IRON MAIDEN, their career is scattered with fillers - point is about being a fan, you love the fillers more than you love most other bands' best songs.

Fair enough.

...but...

South Of Heaven is their finest release, bar none. Season In The Abyss is joint second (along with Show No Mercy), both excellent. I'd put Divine Intervention around fifth.

Yep-i would even go so far to say it's my favourite of theirs.

Indeed. Not about their excellence though, that much is true.
