That made me laugh. When I'm in charge I'll give them all the processed food they can eat, all the lager they can drink and keep them in labour camps. They'll be happy though, as they can all have massive tellys with 500 channels and a fat Northern or Cockney comedian telling "blue" jokes every saturday night.

George Rekers, a Baptist minister who along with James Dobson co-founded the powerful Christian lobbying group Family Research Council, was spotted arriving at Miami International Airport with a companion he hired from a gay escort Web site called RentBoy.com. Dr. Rekers said he hired the prostitute as a travel assistant for a trip to Europe after having had surgery. "I can't lift luggage. That's why I hired him,"

Schoolgirl outfit accused on trial.

A 60-year-old is due to stand trial charged with breaching an Asbo which bans him from dressing up as a schoolgirl.

Peter Trigger was given the five-year Asbo in December 2008 after waiting near a primary school in the town dressed as a schoolgirl.

It bans him from wearing a skirt or showing bare legs on a school day between 8.30am and 10am, and 2.45pm and 4pm, and also from behaving in a manner which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to others.

Trigger, from Farndon Close, Northampton, previously denied breaching the order three times and will stand trial at Northampton Magistrates' Court.

He is accused of causing harassment, alarm or distress on December 16 last year, contrary to the terms of the order.

He is also accused of wearing a skirt and having bare legs at 9.05am on January 27 this year, and again at 9.07am the following day - again breaching his Asbo.

Neanderthal genes 'survive in us'

Many people alive today possess some Neanderthal ancestry, according to a landmark scientific study.
The finding has surprised many experts, as previous genetic evidence suggested the Neanderthals made little or no contribution to our inheritance.

The result comes from analysis of the Neanderthal genome - the "instruction manual" describing how these ancient humans were put together.

Between 1%-4% of the genomes of people in Eurasia come from Neanderthals.
But the study confirms living humans overwhelmingly trace their ancestry to a small population of Africans who later spread out across the world.

The most widely-accepted theory of modern human origins - known as Out of Africa - holds that the ancestors of living humans (Homo sapiens) originated in Africa some 200,000 years ago.
A relatively small group of people then left the continent to populate the rest of the world between 50,000 and 60,000 years ago.

While the Neanderthal genetic contribution - found in people from Europe, Asia and Oceania - appears to be small, this figure is higher than previous genetic analyses have suggested.
"They are not totally extinct. In some of us they live on, a little bit," said Professor Svante Paabo, from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany.

Professor Chris Stringer, research leader in human origins at London's Natural History Museum, is one of the architects of the Out of Africa theory. He told BBC News: "In some ways [the study] confirms what we already knew, in that the Neanderthals look like a separate line.

"But, of course, the really surprising thing for many of us is the implication that there has been some interbreeding between Neanderthals and modern humans in the past."

Experts astounded by 'city of gonads' jellyfish

Tasmanian scientists have discovered a new species of jellyfish in Hobart's River Derwent and given it a sexy name.

The species is only a few millimetres wide and scientists say it looks like a flying saucer with a cluster of gonads, or sex organs, on top.

Scientists discovered the jellyfish while surveying the waters outside the CSIRO in Hobart.

The new species has been named Csiromedusa medeopolis, meaning "jellyfish from CSIRO" and "city of gonads".

Launceston jellyfish expert Lisa-Ann Gershwin says it is an astounding discovery.

"It's absolutely different from every other jellyfish that's ever been known," Dr Gershwin said.

"So we not only put it into its own new species and its own new genus, but it's actually a brand new family."

Dr Gershwin says the find is also tremendously exciting.

"Quite possibly and quite humbly the greatest discovery of my career, ever. I mean I'll be lucky if I ever get a discovery even half as incredible again," she said.

"You know any mum with a new bub is always excited, but when you have a whole family of new bubs I think it's triply exciting."

Dr Gershwin says the jellyfish is harmless to humans.

If this is true, this is a MASSIVE story! This is hugely important for understanding of prehistory and understanding of human genes. Really big. Not least because it implies that two different species managed to interbreed to produce fertile offspring, which is never been recorded in nature as it goes against the definition of 'species' - so Homo neanderthalis must in fact be part of the same species as Homo sapiens! Amazing.

His parents live on JHQ, the army base I live on. His mum came into school last March to talk to us about drugs. We felt we were cool when we skipped it to get high.

You felt cool because you were man.

The gonad jellyfish - pics of GTFO.

The cross between Servals and domestic cats is a recognised breed, bottlenose dolphins and ...false killer whales(?) have bred and got grandkids in a Seaworld somewhere. Being close enough on the family tree to breed with the Neanderthals we coexisted with isn't exactly a stretch.
Mostly I'm just appreciating how confused and angry this'll be making some of racist dumbasses out there.

Yes but - maybe I'm wrong here - are those crosses you mentioned fertile offspring who can breed and produce more like themselves? It's not news that species can interbreed, that's why we have mules.

It's an interesting story anyway.

Not very exciting.

Re Neanderthals and modern humans interbreeding: I thought this was already fairly old news, there appears to be reasonable evidence in ancinet skeletons. It also seems there were at least two other groups of humans who co-existed with our ancestors - the the Flores island "hobbits" and at leat one, poosible two others in Eurasia, perhaps we all interbred.
