I think I shall, I've heard good things.
This is also cool: "In 2009 the band launched a club titled "Throats of Gold" where subscribers pay a one-time fee and get everything the band release for a whole year. This also includes various clothing and free entry to the bands' gigs."

They have some nice merch, but I've spent too much lately so didn't buy any. The crowd didn't really know what to think of Throats last night, but they have a lot of energy and destroyed my ears which is good.

Are they anything like Fucked Up? They're one of the only hardcore bands I like, and I love them.

Mmm not really. They're louder noisier and fast, when they're not fast they're slow. As I said I can't tell if you'd love or hate them, because they're a grind/doom/spazz/hardcore band. All in one really.

I think their EP is on Spotify a friend said, so if you have that take a spin. Or go on their myspace. You can probably quickly judge what you think.

Spotify doesn't work for US folk I might just search them on a blog or two.

The Besnard Lakes - The Besnard Lakes are the Roaring Night Mclusky - Mclusky Do Dallas Pixies - Doolittle
So close to a "band name in the album title" hat-trick.

I listened to my dad's early GC records over and over from the age of 10-14, I knew them backwards even though I didn't know what he was talking about much of the time. I was shocked when I caught up with his 90s work - it's all abrasive haranguing! What happened to his warm, laid-back, conversational, intelligent hippie demeanour, and his huge range of voices?
