I think we've had this before, but I would have to make like a top 5-ish for this... Final Fantasy VII (Playstation) Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64) Goldeneye 007 (Nintendo 64) Metal Gear Solid (PC) Half Life 2 (PC) Street Fighter 2: Turbo (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) Halo 3 (Xbox 360) Baldur's Gate 2 (PC)

Worst mistake I ever made, I've wanted to revisit it ever since and everywhere I look it's crazy expensive. Indeed. ICO goes for a few pennies now. Incredible game.

Favourite games (this maybe a big list):
Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver. Legacy Of Kain: Defiance. ICO Shadow Of The Colossus Chrono Trigger Final Fantasy IV Final Fantasy VI Final Fantasy VIII Final Fantasy IX Baldur's Gate Baldur's Gate 2 Fallout Fallout 2 Planescape: Torment Xenogears Okami Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles Ecco The Dolphin Ecco: The Tides Of Time Silent Hill 2 Resident Evil 2 Tekken 3 Breath of Fire 3 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Half Life 2 (Including episodes) Portal Warcraft 3 Dawn of War Dawn of War 2 The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Medieval 2: Total War
Hmh, that's all I can think of at the moment, there's plenty more. That's not even me going fully retro.

 Re: The Gaming Thread
Chrono Cross was okay, but not as great as Chrono Trigger, same with BOF4.

And what about Final Fantasy VII, which is probably the best game ever made.

Mostly nostalgia goggles I think. It's not bad, and it's not mediocre either. But compared to the storytelling and general gameplay of the others I mentioned it's just not as good. Plus Sephiroth is nothing compared to Kefka, who actually succeeded in destroying the world and building a crazy mad wizards tower to rule over it. Mad Wizard Clowns > Leather Wearing Anime Dicks with overcompensating swords.

I'm sorry, did you say something has a better story line than FF7 Tom? You are clearly mad.

Yes. 4, 6 (7 is basically a recycled 6 anyway, even the gameplay), 8 and 9 all have better storylines. Plus Cloud is a horrible unlikeable protagonist, Barrett is a stereotypical black guy and Vincent is a gothfag. The entire cast of 6 is better, It has a feral wolf boy, a noble samurai, a rogue ninja, a king who has a chainsaw, a goddamn yeti, Locke and loads more.

 Re: The Gaming Thread
No. I've played a lot of games, I devoted my childhood and most of my teenage life to them. 7 is good, but it's just not as good as the rest of the series.

 Re: The Gaming Thread
8 & 9 are good but 7 is better, it has better side quests/games. I don't care about storylines and either skip through the story or go and make coffee to miss it.

I really really dislike underhanded tactics and skullduggery entering into the world of games development (One of the reasons I stopped my degree short because of this) http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmes ... _id=128252Read if you care about Activision Blizzard (Owners of World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk's and a host of other big brand names) and their CEO Bobby Kotick's plans that have gone ahead and how they treat their employees.

Beat RDR last night. The ending and the events leading up to it are brutal.

 Re: The Gaming Thread
The best game ever is Deus Ex.
The perfect game would have the depth of Deus Ex and the breadth Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
