It's always one I've meant to try, but never been in the mood for. But looking though the shoutbox on last.fm for Cruciamentum, someone made the comparison so I decided it was a good time to give them a go given my current musical mood.
Dawn of Possession is 5 fists. Listened to it t'other day. Bloody marvellous. Get Repulsion 'Horrified' too, while you're at it. You'll hate it, but it's also 5 fists.

I disagree with PK. That Brutality album is definitely a quality death metal record. The Immolation one is even better. I found the Disma one to be pretty dull though (3 fists).

Brutality were one of the first Death Metal bands I ever got into, but there is absolutely nothing spectacular about them at all. They do what they do well, but lots of other bands do the same thing at least as well.

Even the cover looks dull and cheap.

I never said they'd reinvented the wheel or that they were a top tier band. I just meant that their debut was a solid death metal record that was done well. Anyone who likes death metal will find it enjoyable but not life-changing.

I said that they were always a third-tier band, and that if he's going to spend a limited time exploring a genre that he's not usually that into there are better and more important albums to focus on. I don't think I was wrong.

That Brutality album is alright, far from essential. I wouldn't bother, TBH. The Incantation album is awful, Dawn Of Possession is mighty.
