I quite liked the Watain and COC tracks. Watain was pretty much what I expected, and COC look to be trying to recapture that Deliverance vibe. I seriously doubt either of those songs will be the best on their respective albums.

I think this is actually their (no, his) worst track to date. Pathetic metalcore shit.
I had to have a listen out of morbid curiosity and that was indeed worse than even 'Supercharger'. He 'found his heroes/The freaks and zeroes'. Utter mallcore shit more like.
Jesus. I'm a big MH fan, but that is absolute shite.

Their last album was arguably their best since Ashes, but this really does sound bad. Adolescent. A complete step backwards and then some. Falling on their ass.

Only lasted about 50 seconds of that Machine Head track. Awful, especially the vocals. Plus they've nicked the riff from Strapping Young Lad's 'Love?'
“People asking me about riff similarities: I don’t have an opinion really. I’ve written riffs my whole career that sound like something else.
“I’ve used whole themes from other albums, movies or soundtracks. Art is a collage of your experiences, you taking clippings and reassemble.
“Heres the best part about comparison of MH new song to ‘Love’ I basically ripped off the SYL chorus from this song:”
Flynn
Quote:
“Shout out to @dvntownsend for being so cool. The Riff Police pulled me over, I got a $300 infraction for that one!! Like Dime bag always used to tell me ‘we’re all just sharing riffs man’.”
“Got a lot of respect for you Devin, super talented musician, amazing producer (as the palaces burn production crushes all!)
“And while I would proudly admit that I stole a Riff from you… Was just a happy accident.
“Riff on brother!!”
I don't believe Flynn's "happy accident" for a moment (surely someone else would have noticed something during the writing/recording process) but it did make me think of this.

You did better than me: I fast forwarded through the intro and them lasted about 10 seconds of the main song. Awful.
Meh, sometimes similar riff ideas happen - I've had it happen myself (with the same progression to a song I had never heard before), thankfully our producer pointed it out and we were able to modify it. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't - you'd think if someone was biting an idea they would actually try to conceal it somewhat.

SYL are not Metallica, Megadeth, Mercyful Fate, Venom, Celtic Frost etc. They are not at the back of everybody's minds. It is very plausible that it was a coincidence.
