This one is interesting actually. I've gone for Mahavishnu Orchestra as they had the most impact on me but it was pretty close as Electric Light Orchestra have a lot of great stuff too.

01. Mahavishnu Orchestra
02. Electric Light Orchestra
03. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
04. Yellow Magic Orchestra

Mahavishnu, but I only really rate their first 2 albums.

Yeah the first two studio albums are certainly Mahavishnu's best but everything from the original lineup is essential in my opinion. If you haven't heard it already Stat I'd highly recommend you check out "The Trident Sessions" (their long lost third album). The live album "Between Nothingness & Eternity" & the unofficial bootleg "Wild Strings" are also quite brilliant. Of the later material I have a bit of a soft spot for "Visions of the Emerald Beyond" even if it's not really essential. The rest are pretty much garbage from what I can remember.

Good to see MO rated - I had 2 albums - Inner Mounting Flame & Birds Of Fire but not sure I can listen to fusion anymore. Prefer Symphonic Metal which is probably ELO's fault.

I never saw much appeal in them to be honest. 1992's "Not to Be Undimensional Conscious" probably came closest though.
